I’ll never forget the day; it was Halloween Tuesday, October 31st 2017. I was experiencing some unexpected bleeding the morning I woke up to get ready for work. Keith and I silently panicked and called the doctors office right at 8:00am to see if I could come in to make sure everything was ok with the ‘baby’. They had an opening for an ultrasound at 9:00am and you better believe I did everything I could to get there to check on my little one.
When I pulled up to the doctors office, I got a call from the nurse asking if I could come in later because my doctor wasn’t in yet and that they wouldn’t be able to give me any of the test results. My heart dropped, and I let them know I was on the elevator and just wanted to make sure that we could still hear a heartbeat. From then I was prepared to become a certified nurse for the next 30 minutes or so, just incase I had to determine if I could see a heart beat on the ultrasound.
The Doctors office had a very different vibe this day, all the nurses and doctors were dressed up for Halloween – all I could think about was receiving news that would haunt me forever. I walked into the dark, gloomy and very heated ultrasound room; placed my things on the chair, took off my sweater and laid on the ultrasound table praying that I would receive the news that everything was ok with our baby. After just seconds of the nurse dobbling around my stomach and having no idea what I was looking at on the ultrasound screen, all I wanted to know was if there was a heartbeat.
That’s when she broke me the news! You’re having triplets!
For the longest I was waiting for the I’m just kidding but those words never came from her mouth the entire time! We laughed and laughed, me half jokingly half still wanting to know the truth. She said I wouldn’t lie to you and showed me the heads 1 by 1! Baby A, Baby B and Baby C.
